Wilkins Life Skills and Emotional Support Host Thanksgiving Feast

On Wednesday, November 22nd the students in the Life Skills and Emotional Support Classroom (Ms. Erin Higgins & Ms. Nataly Alexander's classes) had a "Thanksgiving Feast".  The classes have been talking about appropriate table manners, the meaning of Thanksgiving and how we celebrate.  They would like to thank Bob Evans and Boston Market and many of the paraprofessionals for contributing to this event. University of Pittsburgh Women's Basketball Student Day

A select group of PAW and Buddy Project Students from Woodland Hills Intermediate, Wilkins, and Edgewood had the opportunity to watch the Pitt Women’s Basketball Team defeat Cornell University on Monday during the annual Student Day Game. As part of the day's events, the students took a pledge to do their best and help others.

Kindness Day Wilkins Teachers honor Kindness Day

In honor of Kindness Day, the teachers at Wilkins Primary wore blue and made a donation to The Caileigh Lynn McDowell Foundation.  We raised $105 and we will be asking members of our school to complete Random Acts of Kindness throughout the year by visiting and choosing one of the choices on our Kindness bulletin board.

Be There United Way "Be There" campaign takes aim at school attendance!

United Way's "Be There" initiative is aimed at reducing chronic absenteeism which can result from excused absences--not just unexcused absences. Both types of absences can cause a child to fall behind in their learning and ultimately lead to long-term problems

Wilkins PTO Night at Chuck E. Cheese

On October 26th, Wilkins Primary PTO hosted a family fun night at Chuck E. Wilkins Primary Unity Day

On October 25th, Wilkins Primary staff and students wore orange and celebrated Unity Day: a day designed to promote respecting others, kindness, and anti-bullying.  The day culminated with an assembly where each grade level performed to a theme of the day.  It was a great day to be a Wilkins Wolverine!!  Click "Read More" to watch the video recap of the day...
