School Vaccination Changes and Updates
The PA Department of Health is changing school immunization regulations beginning August 2017. The new vaccination requirements include 2 doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine, the second given at age 16 or entry into 12th grade. The second dose will be required for entry into 12th grade this August or a written religious, philosophical, or medical exemption. If the initial dose was given at age 16 or older, only one dose is required.
As in the past, all students entering 7th grade in August will need to provide proof of one meningococcal conjugate vaccine and current Tdap vaccine for entry or a written religious, philosophical, or medical exemption.
