Woodland Hills Academy STEM Team Headed to State Championship!

Congratulations to Academy fifth grade students Isabel Concepcion, Mia Damico, Kallie Kristian, Zoe Painter and Alicia Matthews for winning the Allegheny County K’Nex STEM Design Challenge at Duquesne University.  They are headed to Harrisburg to compete in the K’Nex STEM Design Challenge State Championship on May 19th.  They created an environmentally friendly amusement park ride called S.E.A. (Saving Endangered Animals) Voyage.

It is a boat ride that teaches riders about endangered ocean animals and how to help them.  The ride is powered with wind and solar energy and features a swimming dolphin!  We wish them the best of luck as they proudly represent the Woodland Hills School District in Harrisburg!
