Pennsylvania School Health Law requires all students in eleventh grade to submit proof of a physical exam. Notification was sent home in the spring of the students' sophomore year. Permission forms to have a physical exam done by our school doctor are available in the Health Office.

There are new IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Allegheny County Health Department wants every parent/guardian to know that there are new immunization requirements for ALL students in grades K-12. Beginning August 2008, ALL students will be required to have a 2nd chicken pox vaccine. In addition, those students entering grades 7 through 12 will be required to have the meningitis vaccine (MCV4), as well as a booster (if not given within the last 5 years) dose of tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap).

MAKE SURE YOU CHILD IS A STEP AHEAD! Call your child’s doctor now and get these required vaccines before the summer rush. You can also obtain these shots for FREE at the Allegheny County Health Department---412-578-8060.

Once your child obtains these immunizations, please provide proof to your school nurse as soon as possible and before school starts in August, 2008. If you have any questions regarding your child’s immunizations, please call your school nurse.
