Dear Woodland Hills School District parents, students, and community stakeholders:
Welcome to Woodland Hills Junior High, where we are committed to ensuring that we provide a rigorous learning environment, supported by caring respectful relationships, and opportunities for all students to excel. The excitement and promise of the 2008-2009 school year has been building since July 3, 2008, when the Woodland Hills Board of School Directors voted to merge both junior high schools. As a result, the Woodland Hills Junior High was formed.
My name is Ms. J. Wilson Carter. My assistant principals, Mr. Shawn Brown and Mr. Michael Wetmiller and I are honored to serve as the Woodland Hills Junior High School's first administrative team. It was Oprah Winfrey who once said "When I look at the future, it is so bright it burns my eyes." Truly this statement strikes a cord within us for we know that committed involvement with Woodland Hills' School District parents, community, and a dedicated, seasoned staff, sets the stage for high academic achievement for all learners.
We look forward to serving the Woodland Hills School District School community for school year 2008-2009. We anticipate that this will be an extraordinary year!
