Mrs. White-Price's Fourth Grade Students discussed what it means to be a successful Wolverine with a group of exceptional Woodland Hills High School Juniors and Seniors.  A special thank you to Lacie McClelland, Shauntay Davis, Josh Rawlings, and Abrianna Glaze for imparting their advice on what it takes to be an outstanding student.

Pittsburgh Festival Opera Field Trip Pittsburgh Festival Opera Field Trip

WHI 4th Graders were treated to a performance of The Enchanted Forest by the Pittsburgh Festival Opera on March 7, which included music from Bizet’s Carmen and Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Ecosystems Ecosystems

WHI Fourth Graders are working on constructing self sustaining ecosystems.  The system will support guppies, crickets, isopods, and pond snails on elodea, duckweed, algae, alfalfa, and mustard seeds.

Pittsburgh Festival Opera Visits WHI Pittsburgh Festival Opera Visits WHI

Pittsburgh Festival Opera visited WHI 4th graders today to prep them for their upcoming field trip to see The Enchanted Forest. Students learned about voice types, parts of an opera/play, and were taught how to conduct. We will travel to Arsenal Middle School on March 7. 
 

ECET2 Comes to Woodland Hills ECET2

Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teachers and Teaching, ECET2, was hosted in Woodland Hills on Friday, February 15th.  This was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the New Venture Fund.  Staff members facilitated over forty sessions of professional learning for their peers, shared ideas in colleague circles, and celebrated our staff members with twenty or more years of service to the Woodland Hills School District.

2019-2020 Kindergarten Enrollment Hi5!, Kindergarten Here I Come

Do you know a child who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2019?  If so, this child is eligible for Kindergarten.  Register Now!  Please call Central Registration Office at 412-731-1300 ext. 0110 to schedule an appointment for enrollment.  Office hours for student registration is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

January 30 cancellation - school in session February 18

January 31 cancellation -  school in session April 17 (early dismissal) - full day of school on April 16

Jump with Jill 2019 Video Link

WHI 4th and 5th Graders participated in the Jump with Jill Nutrition Rock Show.  Jill taught the importance of healthy eating and exercise during this super interactive dance and music extravaganza.

The start time for the Jr/SR High School is 20 minutes later to ensure the safety and welfare of our students traveling to school at such an early hour.  The other buildings will be 15 minutes later to accommodate the bus schedules.  The Rankin Promise School will remain on their current schedule.  CLICK HERE to see the details.
