Ms. Miller has been a member of the WHSD staff since November 2004 and currently teaches Music Expression/Performing Arts at Edgewood, Wilkins, and Turtle Creek Elementary Schools to grades Pre-K through 5th. She will also serve as a 6th grade General Music Teacher at WH Intermediate for the final quarter of the 2019-2020 school year. She is an assistant director of the WHHS Marching Band, a former assistant coach of the Rifle Team, and a former director the district fundraiser "Dancing with the Teachers." She is a proud graduate of WHSD’s first full class of the merger (2000). Ms. Miller holds a Bachelor of Music in K-12 music education from Westminster College with an emphasis on flute performance. She returned from a sabbatical (2009-2011 school years) in Tempe, AZ, where she earned a Master of Music in instrumental music education at Arizona State University.
Ms. Miller is an active musician and flute teacher throughout the Pittsburgh area. Recent performance credits include the pit orchestra for many of WHHS's musicals and Performing Arts Workshops, Pittsburgh Flute Club, Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra, North Suburban Symphonic Band, New Castle Playhouse, and Artscape Productions, as well as freelancing for various weddings and community events.
