Wilkins PTA Student-Parent Dance

The Wilkins PTA hosted a 2nd and 3rd grade student-parent dance on November 29th.  Students and their families danced, ate refreshments, played with balloons, and took pictures in a photobooth.  Click "Read More" for a highlight video of this fun night!!

Winter Coat Donation at Wilkins Primary

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018 Wilkins Primary received a generous donation of coats from The Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association - Southwest Chapter.  Rick Daley, from Tri-state Trailer Leasing Co. & Jeff Mercadante from PITT OHIO coordinated with Mrs. Zurisko, School Social Worker, to make this happen for the students at Wilkins.  We want to thank them for helping our students stay warm this winter!

Wolverine Code-a-Thon 2018

Woodland Hills Elementary Students wrapped-up Computer Science Week with the Wolverine Code-a-Thon.  Kindergarten through sixth grade students created, modified, and debugged computer code for an entire school day.  They programmed and choreographed virtual dancers, solved coding puzzles, re-created Minecraft Worlds and published original Google Doodles with Scratch.

Penguins Open Practice 2018

Through the generosity of the Penguins Foundation and the United Way, Woodland Hills Elementary students enjoyed watching an open practice session at PPG Paints Arena.

Wilkins Primary Attendance Challenge Goes to Pitt

Wilkins Primary had an Attendance Challenge during the month of October.  3rd Grade students that did not miss more than 1 day of school during the month of October were rewarded with a field trip to the Peterson Event Center to cheer on the Pitt Women's Basketball team on November 7th.  Click "Read More" for pics/vids from the trip!

1st Grade Has Fun With Pumpkins!

Ms. DeTorre and Ms. Simpson's first grade classes celebrated pumpkins! Parents were invited to interact with the students to work on different pumpkin centers that included math, writing, science, and taste testing! It was a fun filled afternoon learning about pumpkins!

Wilkins Primary Celebrates Unity Day

On Wednesday October 24th, students at Wilkins Primary gathered together to celebrate Unity Day.  The purpose of this day was to emphasize our 5 P behavior (prompt, prepared, polite, productive, proud) and how they relate to our everyday lives.  School behavior and being kind were also addressed.  Classes particpated with songs, chants, and readings.  We even had guest speakers from the high school.  Thanks to Ms. Miller for organizing and MCing this important day.

PowerSchool Unified Classroom Parent Portal

Attention Wilkins Families!!  

Our district-wide parent portal is now active for Wilkins Primary.  Unified Classroom will allow parents/guardians to see their students' grades, attendance, assignments, and class announcements in real time....  Click "Read More" for more important information.

Buddy Breakfast at Wilkins Primary

On Friday, October 26th students, parents, and staff members involved with the Be There Buddy Program participated in a Buddy Breakfast.  Click "Read More" for more information and pictures from this fun event!

Fire Trucks and Chuck E Cheese visit Wilkins Primary

Wilkins Primary was visited by the Wilkins Township Fire Department on Thursday.  Students got to talk with the fire fighters, see their equipment, and of course, check out their trucks!  Also, we were visited by Mr. Chuck E. Cheese himself who was here to promote our upcoming Chuck E Cheese fundraiser.  The students were thrilled to see the big mouse!!  

Wolverine Spirit Award Winners from Wilkins Primary

This month Wilkins students, Linc Ensley  and Chelsea Marquez were recognized at the school board meeting as the Wolverine Spirit Award winners.  Linc was nominated by his teacher, Ms. DeTorre and Chelsea was nominated by her teacher, Ms. Wilson.  Both students were honored for being positive classmates, hard workers, polite students who start and end end every day with a smile and kind word.  Wilkins is thrilled to have Linc and Chelsea as the Spirit Winners and members of our school family!  Click "Read More" for pictures of our winners.

i-Ready at Home

For the past year, your students have been using a program called iReady for online diagnostic and instruction in math and reading.  The program requires students to use the online instruction 45min per week for math (we have other reading programs in practice so reading is not mandatory).  While your child's teacher is using the program in the classroom, you have full access to the program at home as well.  Click "Read More" for login information and links.

2018-2019 WHSD Building Start Times Start Times

The start time for the Jr/SR High School is 20 minutes later to ensure the safety and welfare of our students traveling to school at such an early hour.  The other buildings will be 15 minutes later to accommodate the bus schedules.  The Rankin Promise School will remain on their current schedule.  CLICK HERE to see the details.
