Dear Woodland Hills School District Families:
The Woodland Hills School District has been made aware of a security threat on social media against the Woodland Hills High School. As we work to identify the source of the threat, we are increasing the security presence on campus, including arrival and dismissal times. Rest assured that our scholars are safe and the individual responsible for this threat will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
As many of you are aware, the district has received several threats throughout the school year to both the high school and Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy. The district is continuously working to enhance security measures at both the high school and at Dickson. Additional security measures will be in place to secure the perimeter of each building throughout the day. Our security team will work together with local law enforcement to share information in the investigation of any threats.
All threats made toward our schools will be taken seriously and investigated fully, and we will continue to communicate the existence of those threats to our families and staff in an effort to be as transparent as possible. With the appropriate security measures in place, we will be able to reduce the need to transition to virtual instruction and we will be able to provide a safe and secure in-person learning environment for our scholars and staff.
Thank you for your commitment to the Woodland Hills School District as we continue to ensure that the safety and security of our scholars and staff is our top priority.
James P. Harris, Superintendent
Mrs. Shelly Manns, Principal at Woodland Hills High School
