Congressman Mike Doyle spoke to Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and AP Economics students about Financial Literacy and the stock market Monday, March 26.
The visit was set up by Mrs. Tabb as part of the Capitol Hill Challenge (CHC) Stock Market Game™. CHC matches Members of Congress with students, teachers, and schools competing in The Stock Market Game™ in their respective district or state. Student teams manage a hypothetical $100,000 online portfolio and invest in real stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. His advice to the students was to invest in equity investment funds and start saving now for their retirement. Thomas Szemanski, VP of Risk Management at BNY Mellon also shared some tips and advice.
A few of our Woodland Hills FBLA teams are in the top 2% out of over 3,000 teams. The top 10 teams win an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC. Good Luck!
FBLA would like to thank all who made this visit possible.
