AUGUST 25, 2023
What a week!!! As educators, the students coming back into the buildings fill us with energy and excitement. We had a tremendous start to the school year. Even our cafeteria company commented that this was the best behaved and happiest bunch of students they can ever remember. That’s a credit to all of our parents who are working with us to create a positive school culture. Thank you!!!
A reminder of a few important upcoming events:
Tuesday, August 29 - elementary open house 6:00 pm
Wednesday, August 30 - high school open house 6:00 pm
Thursday, August 31 - middle school open house 6:00 pm
Friday, September 1 - staff clerical day, no school for students
Monday, September 4 - no school - Labor Day
A very special thank you goes out to our Transportation Department. For the first time we are fully staffed and working hard to smoothly transport 6,000 students in almost 300 routes. Ms. Janelle Kopay, Mr. Garrett Reid, Ms. Christine Thompson and Ms. Megan Pokorny answer phones from 5:30 am until late into the evening to ensure runs are completed and students are safe. Where the Woodland Hills community sits geographically, you know the challenges all drivers face, dealing with the traffic patterns into and out of the city of Pittsburgh. Busing in our district is an enormous task, but one we recognize and have staffed to efficiently accomplish. Please listen for an all call that will be coming out at 5 PM tonight. We have made some changes today that we believe will make things even better for Monday.
Tonight, Mr. Carr will lead our band, Coach Chalise will lead our cheerleaders, and Coach Tarrant will lead our football players for an outstanding evening that showcases our student athletes and performers. Please join us tonight at 7:00 PM at our Wolvarena in Turtle Creek as we show support to hard working, dedicated students.
It’s a great day to be a Wolverine!
