Registration is Open for the Woodland Hills Pre-K Counts Program

Woodland Hills School District is accepting registration applications for the PA Pre-K Counts Program for the 2023-24 school year.  This is a FULL DAY program (9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.) This program is free to residents who live within the boundaries of the Woodland Hills SD; whose children are three (3) or four (4) years old by September 1, 2023, AND gross household income is within 300% of federal poverty level. See income chart. Please contact Renee Englert at 412-731-1300 ext. 0155 or englre@whsd.us regarding registration procedures.

Registrations will be taken at the Central Registration Office, 531 Jones Avenue, North Braddock, PA 15104 and will be accepted from Monday-Thursday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please call 412-731-1300 ext. 0110 or create an appointment by clicking the link below:

The Woodland Hills School District will also be holding monthly evening registration events from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday, April 20th
  • Thursday, May 28th
  • Thursday, June 22nd

Or you can upload the fill-in registration packet and the 2023 PA Pre-K Counts Enrollment form with required documents to registration@whsd.us. Documents may also be mailed to the attention of Renee Englert at 531 Jones Avenue, North Braddock, PA  15104. Please indicate which location you are registering for Edgewood Elementary STEAM Academy, Wilkins Elementary STEAM Academy, or Turtle Creek Elementary STEAM Academy.  

To save time during the registration process you may complete the the fill-in registration packet and the 2023 PA Pre-K Counts Enrollment form and bring it with you along with the following documents:

  • Parents or guardian's photo ID with current WHSD address (only parent or legal guardian may register a child)

  • Current deed or lease or Notarized Affidavit of Residency

  • Additional proof of residency (ex. current utility bill, pay stub with name and address, or some type of mail of an official nature)

  • Your child's birth certificate (or passport or baptismal certificate with birth date)

  • Your child's immunization records

  • Verification of Household Income ((3) consecutive pay stubs, or; 2022 tax return, or; W-2 form for 2022, or; SSI, or; TANF printout, or; foster care letter, or; employer letter, or; child support, or; county case message, or; zero income letter)

Note we are in full rebid year and there is no guarantee of PKC placement in the Fall until awards have been finalized and announced. Please keep in mind that parents must provide transportation to and from school. Space is limited. Enrollment is not on a first come first serve basis. Children are accepted into the program through specific needs that are assessed in the application.  Only complete applications will be considered.
