Future Class of 2029 celebrated during Dickson's eighth grade promotion ceremony

Congratulations to the future Woodland Hills Class of 2029!

Eighth graders from Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy took the next big leap in their educational journey as they are now on the move to high school. Students were joined by their families, loved ones, teachers, and district administrators for a promotion ceremony held on Thursday, May 29 at the high school.

After the students processed into the auditorium to the tune of "Pomp and Circumstance," and a performance of "The Star Spangled Banner" by the eighth grade choir, Principal Joshua Manning welcomed everyone and introduced superintendent Dr. Joe Maluchnik.

Dr. Maluchnik congratulated the students and challenged them to use the next four years to explore their horizons - join a new club, try a new sport, sign up for a new class, and make new friends. He also reminded them that they'll continue to face hard choices, much as they already have in middle school. Dr. Maluchnik encouraged them to make the right choice, even when it's hard, rather than take the easy, poor choice.

One-by-one, students were invited on stage and presented with their certificates officially recognizing their promotion from eighth grade into high school. Mr. Manning congratulated the students once more and expressed his appreciation and admiration for all of their hard work. He wished them well as they officially begin their high school journey.
