Committee Meetings


The purpose of a school board committee meeting is to allow a smaller group of board members to do detailed work, research, and planning on specific topics like finance, policy, or education. These working sessions let the board streamline decisions and bring clear recommendations back to the full board.


Main Functions of Committee Meetings

  • Deep dive: Focus on complex issues that need more time than a standard meeting allows.
  • Review policies: Draft, update, and revise policies before a full vote.
  • Plan and research: Set goals, study budgets, and review programs.
  • Hear input: Listen to experts, staff, and the public. 

Committee Agendas

The WHSD will post Committee meeting agendas on Board Docs 24 hours prior to any meeting.


Legal Rules in Pennsylvania

  • Open to public: Must follow the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, requiring public notice and agendas.
  • Public comment: Give citizens a chance to speak on issues.
  • No final action: Usually serve to recommend actions rather than pass final laws or votes on the spot. 

The October 5th and 7th committee meetings and all future committee meetings will be held in the Woodland Hills High School LGI room.  The address of Woodland Hills High School is 2550 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15221.

  • October 5, 2026 - Policy 4:30 PM, Special Education & Pupil Services 5:00 PM
