Welcome back, Woodland Hills students!
Faculty and staff were thrilled to see so many smiling faces on the first day of school on Thursday, August 21. This is a year full of promise and growth, and entire community can't wait to see the journeys each student will travel over the coming weeks and months.
At the high school and middle school, community members and local organizations were on hand to help welcome students and staff into the buildings. Thanks to Big Brothers, Big Sisters for showing up at the middle school and to Cure Violence and 100 Fathers for being present at the high school. Their support is another example of what makes this district and community so special.
At Wilkins and Turtle Creek elementary schools, students spent the first day meeting new classmates and learning more about their teachers. The first day of elementary school can always be a little nerve-wracking, but the staff offered plenty of reassurance and encouragement to the students.
Edgewood Elementary students will return to school for their first day on September 2.
