The Woodland Hills High School chapter of the National Honor Society formally inducted 38 new members during its annual ceremony on Thursday, November 20 in the auditorium.
To become a member of the National Honor Society, students must meet specific academic, character, leadership, and service requirements, as determined by the NHS and the local chapter. These standards help students demonstrate that they embody those four pillars of the National Honor Society.
This year's ceremony included opening remarks from NHS sponsor Mrs. Jodi Blasi, as well as from Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum Dr. Eddie Willson and Woodland Hills High School Co-Principal Dr. Shelly Manns. The keynote teacher speaker was Mrs. Erin Tiboni.
NHS president Rebecca Busch, vice president Aubrie Moon, secretary Addison Ebbitt, and treasurer Payton Frederick each spoke about the four pillars of academic, character, leadership, and service before introducing the newest inductees. As they were introduced, the inductees shared which pillar they were choosing as their focal point.
Returning members were then recognized as they shared favorite memories from their time at Woodland Hills and their plans upon graduation. Thomas Ketcham provided piano accompaniment as NHS members entered and exited the auditorium.
This year's new inductees are Kevin Agbodoh, Leo Alfieri, Zoey Bostard, Niyah Brown, Noelle Brubaker, Kylie Carroll, Delaney Cass, Saliyah Chambers, Beckett Ciocco, Aaron Concepcion, Ruslan Connelly, Wyatt Connelly, Caroline Elston, Kaylee Filus, Taniyah Goodwin, Weatherly Haberfield, Avery Henderson-Thomas, Roo Horst, Dalilah Jaramillo, Lea Julian, Renee Kilpatrick, Charles Kodman, Violet Litman, Isaac Lott, Judah Mitchell, Cameron Peretti, Davien Pierce, Max Remaley, Noah Rinsema, Lucas Rosen, Olivia Safran, Peyton Sarafis, Jae Saunders, Jody Shaffer, Cora Spear, Grayden Tkach, Nevada Toomey, and Edie Tucker.
