Fifth graders at Turtle Creek perform winter showcase

Fifth graders in the orchestra, choir, and band at Turtle Creek have spent much of the early part of the school year preparing for their first concert. All of that practice and hard work came to fruition on Tuesday, December 9 as the students performed in the annual winter concert.

The band and orchestra joined forces to open the show with "Hard Rock Blues" by John Higgins. The orchestra stayed on stage to have some spooky fun with "Spiders in my Soup" by Justin Perez and the seasonal "Jazzy Jingle" by Paul Cook.

The choir was up next with a pair of holiday tunes - "Fun, Fun, Fun" by Greg Gilpin and "Red Bird" by Teresa Jennings. The band closed out the show with the "St. Nick Salsa," arranged by M. Story, and the energetic "Popcorn Prelude" by M. Hannickel.

The orchestra is under the direction of Ms. Burgh, the choir is under the direction of Mrs. Endler, and the band is under the direction of Mrs. Hertrick.

Thank you to all of the friends and family members who came out to support our students in their big show! Enjoy some photos from the show.
