Wilkins fifth graders present annual winter concert

The fifth grade orchestra, choir, and band presented their annual winter concert on Tuesday, December 16 in front of an audience of family members, teachers, and classmates.

For many of the students, it was their first time ever performing in front of an audience!

The band and orchestra teamed up to open the show with a collective performance of "Hard Rock Blues." Following that song, the orchestra stayed to play two more selections under the direction of Ms. Burgh - the haunting "Spiders in My Soup" and the energetic "Jazzy Jingle."

Mr. Shaw and the choir stepped into the spotlight next for three songs, beginning with appropriately warm "Hot Chocolate" on a cold winter morning. "Go in Peace" came next before the choir finished with some hand-clapping during "O Kwanzaa."

Mrs. Hertrick and the band wrapped up the show with a pair of songs - the toe-tapping "St. Nick Salsa" and "Popcorn Prelude."

Thanks to everyone who helped make the show possible. Congratulations to the fifth graders for making so much progress over the last couple of months. Enjoy some photos from the show!
