Based on Brooks' 1974 film of the same name, "Young Frankenstein" chronicles the journey of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, an accomplished academic who has devoted his life to actual science and all but disowned his infamous family name. Frederick is awarded the estate of his late grandfather, the mad scientist Victor von Frankenstein, which introduces him to a bizarre cast of characters: The hunchbacked servant Igor, stunning lab assistant Inga, and mysterious housekeeper Frau Blucher.

With their assistance and encouragement, Frankenstein succeeds in bringing a monstrous creation to life, only to lose control and accidentally set it loose on the people of Transylvania. Hilarity ensues, as well as a dash of drama and romance.

Laced with Brooks' trademark humor, "Young Frankenstein" retains all of the cheekiness and subversive wit of the original film. Audiences may need multiple viewings just to catch all of the snarky punchlines!

Woodland Hills' production of "Young Frankenstein" features Leo Alfieri and Isaac Lott as Frederick Frankenstein; Sonny Davis as Igor; Livia Rocco and Zuri Rue as Elizabeth Benning; Summer Curtright and Noelle Brubaker as Inga; Olivia Safran, Jae Saunders, and Hayden Crum as Frau Blucher; Adam Steiner as The Monster; Robert Felter as Inspector Hans Kemp; and Cayden Bristow and Richard Master as The Hermit.

The show also features Alexia Abernathy as Herald, Nicolas Damico as Ziggy, Jamel Wynn as Ship's Steward, William Ferguson as Mr. Hilltop and Bob, Luke DeVore as Victor Frankenstein and The Count, Ellie Willson as Sasha, Mackenzie McPherson as Masha, Adore McFadden as Tasha, and TT Sallie-Nelson as Basha.

Avery Henderson-Thomas and Payton Frederick appear as Equines. Bristow, Lott, Alfieri, and Nevaeh Cauley appear as medical students. Lott and Alfieri also appear as the Shoeshine Man, as well as members of the Transylvania Quartet with Bristow, Master, and DeVore.

Additional members of the ensemble include Elizabeth Ansell, Caitlin Burke, Ty'Azia Burton, Saliyah Chambers, Calise Cowans, Kyamaura Edmondson, Caroline Elston, Mariah Fields, Ethan Given, Sanai Hamilton, Xaleia Harmon, Charlotte Kovach, Nasir Mosley, Leela Norman, Brisa Palacios, Emily Pollitt, Connor Staley, Thea Wik, Nate Willson, and Zoe Wisnik.

"Young Frankenstein" would not be possible without the countless hours devoted to the production by a dedicated team of district staff and volunteers, as well as a fantastic student stage crew that keeps the show humming behind the scenes.
