With 40 years of experience in education, including 33 years as an administrator in Western Pennsylvania, Ms. Sedlacek brings exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a longstanding commitment to educational excellence. Throughout her distinguished career, she has remained focused on ensuring that every student has access to high-quality learning opportunities and the support needed to achieve success.
Most recently, Ms. Sedlacek served as Interim Superintendent of the Wilkinsburg School District in 2025, where she successfully guided the district through a leadership transition before continuing to serve as a consultant for an additional five months. Prior to that, she retired in November 2024 after five years as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Human Resources for the Plum Borough School District. Earlier in her career, she served for seven years as Assistant Superintendent in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District.
Ms. Sedlacek's extensive leadership experience also includes serving as Vice President of Education at Pressley Ridge, Program Director, Supervisor of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, and both middle and high school principal. She began her career as a classroom teacher and continues to describe herself as "a teacher at heart," a philosophy that has shaped her student-centered approach to leadership throughout the past four decades.
During her tenure as Assistant Superintendent, her district earned numerous state and national recognition for innovation and educational excellence. These honors included designation as a Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools member, recognition as the 200th Google Reference District worldwide, designation as a Common Sense District, inclusion among Governor Tom Wolf's Schools That Teach, recognition as a Remake Learning district, and designation as a Carnegie Pathways STEM Excellence District.
Beyond her district leadership, Ms. Sedlacek has made significant contributions to educational initiatives throughout the region. Her service has included participation on the Southwestern Pennsylvania Personalized Learning Steering Committee, the University Center for International Studies Advisory Board, the Jefferson Regional Foundation Front Door Initiative Steering Committee, the PA Schools Work Team, the Jefferson Regional Foundation Census 2020 Team, and numerous other regional committees focused on advancing educational opportunities and community engagement.

Ms. Sedlacek will begin her role as Interim Superintendent on July 24, 2026.
