District Communication and Social Media

DISTRICT COMMUNICATION, MEDIA REQUESTS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

The Woodland Hills School District utilizes a number of communication methods to keep our students, staff, families, and the community up-to-date on what's going on in the district.

Parents and guardians should ensure that they have an active PowerSchool account for their children. The district uses PowerSchool to share a wide variety of important information with parents - including required forms - and the contact information parents/guardians provide in PowerSchool is used for essential information about delays/closings, emergencies, and urgent news.

MEDIA REQUESTS

The Woodland Hills School District welcomes inquiries and interest from credentialed media for various district events and news stories.

Requests should be directed to Andrew Chiappazzi, the district's communications specialist through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Interview requests and media opportunities will be coordinated through that contact. All athletics media requests are handled through the athletic office.

VISITING WOODLAND HILLS AND PHOTOGRAPHING STUDENTS AND STAFF

Prior to each school year, Woodland Hills families have the opportunity to opt out of the release of certain information, including having their children photographed or filmed. Visiting media will only be allowed to film or interview those students or staff members whose appropriate release information is on file.

When visiting Woodland Hills, all media members must have active, state-issued photo identification and their media credential. They will be required to check-in with security, and they must be accompanied by a district administrator, assigned staff member, and/or designated communications personnel.
